Electric Vehicles Electric Vehicles are considered zero emission vehicles. Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) are vehicles that have no tailpipe emissions, no evaporative emissions, no emissions from gasoline refining or sales and no on-board emission control systems that can deteriorate over time. Electric Vehicles powered by batteries are the only current technology capable of meeting ZEV requirements. With power plant pollution factored in, EV-s are over 90% cleaner than the least-polluting conventional gasoline powered vehicle.
