Wagon Train leaves Dayton - arrives at Nevada State Capital for Flag Ceremony and then proceeds to Fuji Park for overnight stop.

Wagon Train leaves Fuji Park and arrives at Spooner Lake Campground.

Wagon Train layover day at Spooner Lake
Bar-B-Que and entertainment for participants Saturday night.

Wagon Train leaves Spooner Lake, traveling along the east Shore of Lake Tahoe to the Horizon Hotel and Casino.

Wagon Train leaves the Horizon and travels through South Lake Tahoe to Myers, CA. Arrives at Amacker Ranch. Bar-B-Que for hosts and participants.

Wagon Train leaves Myers and Amacker Ranch for trek over Echo Summit to Strawberry Meadow.
Wednesday
June 5, 2002
Layover Day at Strawberry Meadow. Entertainment to include Black Powder demonstrations, Tomahawk Throwing, ~ Group "Survivors" Picture Bar-B-Que and entertainment for participants.

Wagon Train leaves Strawberry and arrives at Kyburz. Lunch, dinner and entertainment at Kyburz Lodge.

Wagon Train leaves Kyburz and arrives at Pollock Pines at 3 p.m.
Proceeds down Pony Express Trail to Sportsman's Hall.
Crafters, Live Music Bar-B-Que and Dancing , 'Open to Public'.

Wagon Train leaves Pollock Pines with rest stops at Camino Hotel, Boa Vista Orchards and Smith Flat.
Placerville Parade - 2 p.m., then down Placerville Drive to Fair Lane and to the Government Center.
June 8-9, 2002, A Full Weekend of Family Fun, FOOD and Entertainment! First, the Mayor's Breakfast at Town Hall Saturday morning sponsored by the Placerville Downtown Association. Then ... "BEST OF THE WEST ROUNDUP" with two full days of food, fun, entertainment historical demonstrations, crafters, encampments, and highlighted by the arrival of the 53rd Annual Highway 50 Association Wagon Train at 2 p.m. in a parade down Historic Main Street, Placerville.
The Govrnment Center will feature afternoon and early evening band music and a Bar-B-Que presented by "The Three Italians" [proceeds to benefit the Virginia Briggs Scholarship Fund and Wagon Train]. Advance meal tickets on sale at the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce, 524 Main Street, Placerville, (530) 621-5885. Street Dance sponsored by the Hangtown Posse. Sunday Morning … Pancake Breakfast with Gospel and country music at 2 p.m. by The Heritage Singers in front of the Library at the Government Center on Fair Lane. Come out and meet the folks who bring you wagon train and get acquainted with historians and the history of our area.
Who Qualifies?
- Any experienced rider who owns a horse or borrows one.
- Any experienced teamster with a Team and Wagon or Buggy (must be an authentic replica - no rubber tires or plastic.)
- Anyone wishing to ride in a wagon as a passenger and willing to dress in period attire.
Special Note:
- All dress and wagons or buggies must be authentic era … Please check with officials. No T-shirts, tank tops, halter tops or shorts.
- Pow Vow each night at the lead hitch.
- Wagon Train operates by "Rules of the Read" - available with registration forms.
- Shuttle service available to move support vehicles daily.
- No rides sold or registrations accepted after 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2002, at Pollock Pines.
- Water available.
- Persons who wish to ride as passengers will be given special help and referral to Teamsters with seat space. Passengers may NOT move from wagon to wagon during the trip.
- Teamsters usually charge $15 per day to help subsidize their expenses; this is in addition to the daily $15 registration fee. (Registration for the entire trip is $100.)
