The El
Dorado County Senior Nutrition Program announced today that the
Senior Nutrition Program at
the Cameron Park meal site will be discontinued until
further notice due to the
Food Bank of El Dorado no
longer providing its volunteer
service. The El Dorado County Board
of Supervisors will be hearing an agenda item on December 6, 2016, at approximately 10 am, to discuss
the future operations
for the Cameron Park meal
site.
In the meantime,
seniors receiving meals at the Cameron Park site can attend
meals at one of the seven other congregate meal
sites offered throughout El
Dorado County; some
are only a short
distance from Cameron
Park. The Senior Nutrition Program serves hot, nutritious
meals Monday through Friday from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. for the suggested donation of $3.00 per meal for adults
age 60 and older at the following

In addition to its congregate meal
sites, the Senior Nutrition Program also delivers nutritious lunchtime
meals to homebound seniors Monday through Friday. Individuals who are medically or physically disabled, 60 years
of
age or older, may be eligible for the program. The suggested donation is
$3.00 per meal. Eligibility is determined by staff assessment; some restrictions may apply.
