Leading professionals from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will conduct the presentation to include discussion about: Affinity Marketing and Affinity Fraud, “Ponzi” and “Pyramid Schemes”, Time Share Scams, Lotteries and Sweepstakes Scams, Grandparent Scams, Foreign Scam Letters, Cyber Fraud, Social Security Scams, and more.

“We are very excited to host this workshop and raise awareness on the impacts of fraudulent and financial crimes (scams), particularly those that can affect the older adult population,” said Star Walker, program coordinator with the El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency. “This will be a great opportunity for our senior residents to ask questions and learn how to protect themselves and their assets.”

In addition to FBI officials, local law enforcement officials will be in attendance at the workshop to provide an overview of local scams happening in our area. There will be plenty of time for questions. “Please join us for this special opportunity to speak with some of the Country’s leading professionals with expertise in scams,” added Walker.
