The El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency, Family Caregiver Support Program is pleased to present a free "Aging & Caregiver" educational series in El Dorado Hills. The series will be held on July 15, 22, and 29, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the El Dorado Hills Senior Center located at 990 Lassen Lane in El Dorado Hills. The educational series will provide instruction and support for people who care for or plan to care for an aging family member or friend. The series topics will include the following:

  • July 15, 2016A Journey in Long Term Planning for Long Term Care: This training includes a frank discussion with El Dorado County Senior Legal about the likelihood of needing long term care, which documents to have in place and how to prepare them, and what options may be available to pay for Long Term Care.
  • July 22, 2016Navigating the System of Medi-Cal and Long Term Care: Participants of this training will learn about Medi-Cal and Long Term Care insurance, qualifications and how to start the process.
  • July 29, 2016Walking the Placement Path with a Care-Coordinator: This training will offer options for care. Also included is a discussion about how a care coordinator can assist and guide you on the path to placement for a loved one.

The Aging and Caregiver educational series will be presented by local experts in their respected fields. Participates may attend one or all of the classes. The classes are free of charge, although donations are accepted. Light refreshments will be served. The series is offered as an educational opportunity only; no solicitation of services will be presented.
