Free Educational Series Coming to Cameron Park:

Living with Alzheimer's for Middle Stage Partners

(Cameron Park, CA) – The El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency, Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP) is pleased to present a free Aging & Caregiver educational series in Cameron Park. The three-part series entitled "Living with Alzheimer's for Middle Stage Partners" will be held on Wednesdays, February 13, 20 and 27, 2019, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Cameron Park Community Services District office located at 2502 County Club Drive in Cameron Park. The series is designed to provide instruction and support for caregivers who care for, or plan to care for, a family member or friend aged 60 years or older.

Topics to be covered during the educational series include:

  • Communicating and Connecting
  • Coping with Behavior Changes
  • Maximizing Independence
  • Personal Care
  • Home Safety
  • Preparing for Hospitalization
  • Respite Options

This educational series will be presented by Denise Davis, Program Coordinator with the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Sacramento. Participants are asked to please attend all three classes, as they build upon one another. The classes are free, although donations are accepted. Light refreshments will be served. The series is offered as an educational opportunity only; no solicitation of services will be presented. Respite care may be available for qualified caregivers.

The series is co-sponsored by the El Dorado County FCSP and In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority, with the Northern California and Northern Nevada Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
