EL DORADO COUNTY ADULT DAY PROGRAM CELEBRATES

30 YEARS OF SERVICE WITH COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE AND

NEW NAME - THE CLUB

(Placerville, CA) - The El Dorado County Adult Day Program is proudly celebrating 30 years of service this year. To recognize this milestone, the program is hosting a special community open house, and a ribbon cutting ceremony to launch its new name - "The Club". The events will be held on August 28, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 935A Spring Street in Placerville, and will include music, refreshments, an historical display of The Club's past 30 years, and a showcase featuring other senior program information.

The Club first opened its doors in Placerville on August 28, 1989. The program provides care and activities for adults who need supervision during daytime hours to keep them safe and enjoying their day.

"Most clients are older adults who are isolated or alone, or who need a little extra help due to declining health, Parkinson's disease, stroke, Alzheimer's disease or related dementia," said Nancy Wilson, program supervisor. "The Club provides a multitude of activities for members, including group exercise, crafts, modified sports, speakers and live music. Supportive services, education and referrals are also available for members and their families."

According to Wilson, members of the program come from all walks of life. "Our program provides much needed socialization and friendship, individual attention and group activities. At The Club, we strive to build on our member's strengths and interests. Each month we also coordinate at least one group activity that gives back to the community, such as craft projects for local non-profit organizations, and much more," said Wilson.

To RSVP for the August 28 event, or for more information about The Club in Placerville, please call (530) 621-6180 or email sdcinfo@edcgov.us.
