Maintenance

​CalRecycle Rubberized Pavement Grant Program


In 2019, Department of Transportation, Maintenance and Operations was awarded and funded a second Rubberized Pavement Grant for Rubberized Chip Seal through the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). 


In August 2019, Maintenance and Operations performed its first round of Rubberized Chip Seal under this grant in the Lakehills Subdivision in El Dorado Hills, California. In addition, Maintenance and Operations performed a Rubberized Chip Seal on various roadways in the Cameron Park, Diamond Springs, Placerville and Pollock Pines areas during the Summer of 2020. Total, the projects diverted 22,497 waste tires from the waste stream.
