Important Notice Regarding Online Property Tax Service

The Online Property Tax Service is provided to allow easy access for the public to Pay, Print and View El Dorado County Property Tax Bills.

Please be aware of the following regarding EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) payments:

  • EFTS include Credit Card, Debit Card and e-Check payments;
  • All EFT payments are subject to verification by the issuing bank;
  • The verification process is not an  immediate process;
  • Even though a confirmation number is issued, the transaction may later fail due to an incorrect digit entered or insufficient funds.

When an EFT transaction fails, the $25.00 nonacceptance of an electronic funds transfer fee will apply. If the taxpayer delayed until just before the property tax delinquency date, and the EFT transaction failed, additional late payment penalties and interest will apply.

Pay Early to Avoid Penalties!

According to State law, property tax bills must be mailed by November 1 each year and the bills must allow for two installments. The first installment is due November 1 and delinquent if not paid by December 10. The second installment is due on February 1 and delinquent if not paid by April 10.

The Tax Collector does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of websites or phone systems. If payment is not received by the delinquent date, the taxpayer is responsible for penalties required by law.  The California Revenue and Taxation Code does not permit late penalty cancellations due to website interruptions or EFT transaction failures.  On-line payments are a convenience but don't wait until the last minute.
