El Dorado County Chief Administrative Office/Parks Division and El Dorado County Sheriff's Office applies for grant funding for the Rubicon Trail

The El Dorado County Chief Administrative Office/Parks Division and El Dorado County Sheriff's Office are applying to the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division for the 2021 grants program for funding of projects on the Rubicon Trail. The grants applications will be posted on the OHMVR website on March 2, 2021 – May 3, 2021. The 60-day public review and comment period for the 2021 Grants and Cooperative Agreement Program begins March 2, 2021 and ends May 3, 2021. This period provides an opportunity for the public to review the preliminary applications submitted to the OHMVR Division for consideration during the current grant cycle. The public may provide comment to both the applicant and the OHMVR Division by emailing Vickie Sanders at vickie.sanders@edcgov.us and copying the OHVMR Division at OHVinfo@parks.ca.gov.

2021 Park Passes for Henningsen Lotus Park are now available.
Playgrounds may remain open to facilitate physically distanced personal health and wellness through outdoor exercise. Playgrounds located on schools that remain open for in-person instruction, and not accessible by the general public, may remain open and must follow guidance for schools and school-based programs.
El Dorado County and the CIty of South Lake Tahoe are working together on a conceptual plan for the 56 acres in South Lake Tahoe. Take the self guided tour. The link is below.

Mission Statement
As identified in El Dorado County's General Plan:
Goal 9.1 - Parks and Recreation Facilities
Goal 9.1 with its supporting objectives and policies directs the County to provide adequate recreation opportunities and facilities including parks, trails, and resource-based recreation areas for the health and welfare of El Dorado County residents and visitors.
Objective 9.1.4 directs the county to conserve and promote County rivers and waterways, particularly the South Fork of the American River, as recreational and economic assets. Policies identify the River Management Plan, South Fork of the American River as the implementation plan for river management policies, and call for support of acquisition of a public river access adjacent to Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park.
Goal 9.3 - Recreation and Tourism
Goal 9.3
aims to increase opportunities to capitalize on County recreational resources by encouraging tourism and recreation based businesses and industries. Associated objectives and policies address the need to protect and maintain existing natural and cultural resources and those recreation businesses and industries that attract tourism.
