2021 County Inspection Defensible Space Information

Click here for a list of planned inspection zones submitted by fire prevention partners in El Dorado County including CAL FIRE and local fire districts. These are partnering agencies not affiliated with the County of El Dorado Vegetation Management Program. Please contact the agency managing these inspection zones if you have questions.  This list may not be inclusive of all planned inspection zones.

County Emphasis Areas (CEAs) are the areas designated by the County for focused, proactive defensible space inspections. The CEAs are identified annually in collaboration with CAL FIRE using a combination of the following criteria/methodology:

  • Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone rating
  • Call volume to a specific area
  • Structural density of an area
  • Ingress and egress in an area
  • Fire history and/or ignition patterns
  • Prevailing weather patterns
  • Wildland Urban Interface (WUI)
  • Topography
  • Existing defensible space inspection (Public Resources Code 4291) data

The information contained in maps is approximate. Actual inspections may occur on roads not highlighted on the maps.
