Volunteers are always needed and are very important! Volunteers provide services that mean so much for the animals in our shelter!

Call us at (530) 621-5795 on the West Slope or (530) 573-7925 in South Lake Tahoe if you'd like to volunteer.

Animal Services has many jobs for volunteers, such as:

  • Dog Exercising
  • Cat Socializing
  • Adoptions
  • Foster Care (Click here for more information)
  • Lost and Found
  • Grooming
  • Training
  • Special Events
  • Humane Education
  • Office Support
  • Grounds Maintenance

All volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Application, attend the Volunteer Orientation and be trained, at a minimum, in Basic Dog and Cat Handling before volunteering can begin. Other specific training may be required as identified for specific jobs.

If you'd like to volunteer, contact us at (530) 621-5795 on the West Slope of El Dorado County or (530) 573-7925 in South Lake Tahoe and ask us to send you a Volunteer Application packet. You can also download additional information about volunteering by clicking here or a copy of the volunteer application by clicking here. Thank you!

IT'S FUN AND REWARDING TO VOLUNTEER!
