(PLACERVILLE, CA) – District 1 Supervisor, John Hidahl, today announced the monthly El Dorado Hills
Community Council Meeting on Monday, May 8th at 7:00 p.m. at the El Dorado Hills Community Services
District Pavilion.
“The Community Council meetings offer a great opportunity for residents to learn about what’s happening in
their community,” said Hidahl. “It’s a more informal way to communicate what services the County provides
and how residents can avail themselves of these important services.”
This month, the featured speaker is Raelene Nunn, the District 1 Commissioner on Aging. She will provide an
overview of the programs that are available to seniors in El Dorado County, how residents can get access to
them and answer questions.
“The County provides several important services to our seniors, including activities and trips, adult day
services, employment and counseling services, family caregiver support, health insurance counseling and
advocacy, nutrition services, the senior shuttle, Alzheimer’s support, legal assistance, volunteer opportunities
and more,” Hidahl said. “At any point along the line, seniors may be interested in a variety of different
programs, and Ms. Nunn will provide valuable information in that regard.”
Additionally, Supervisor Hidahl will provide an update on the County’s 2017-18 budget and the Southeast
Connector. There will also be progress reports from the Leadership Team about public safety, economic
development, infrastructure, good governance, health and human services, and community information and
outreach.
