Placerville, CA — The Public Defender’s Office is moving its West Slope location to 3976 Durock Road, Suite 104, Shingle Springs, CA 95682, effective October 31, 2016. The new office is centrally located on the West Slope, which gives greater accessibility to clients and family. It is conveniently accessible to public transportation, with an El Dorado Transit bus stop right in front of the building. The new location affords the opportunity to more closely collaborate with the Probation Department, which serves many of the same clients, offering a unique convenience to the community.
Clients and visitors are welcome at the new building beginning Monday, October 31, at 8:00 a.m. The office telephone system will be voicemail only from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 28, due to the move. Individuals wishing to speak to the staff should do so before October 28th, as the Main Street location will be inaccessible on October 28th due to the move.
The existing phone numbers and email addresses of staff will remain the same.
The El Dorado County Public Defender’s Office is a constitutionally-mandated department and it provides balance to the criminal justice system in representing an average of 4,000 clients per year in criminal proceedings, juvenile proceedings, mental health cases, specialty courts for veterans, and tribal members of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians.
