EL DORADO COUNTY – District 3 Supervisor Brian Veerkamp and City of Placerville Mayor Carl Hagen will host a transportation planning open house in conjunction with the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) public workshop on the Metropolitan Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy.

El Dorado County is recognized for its high-quality of life, unique rural communities, and abundance of agriculture and forests. In order to preserve El Dorado County’s community assets, its critical local leaders and public agencies collaborate to plan for current and future transportation and land use investments. The collaboration among local governments serves as a venue to bring in State and Federal investments to the county.

El Dorado County residents are invited to learn about the processes and relationships of the local and regional transportation planning agencies that work together to bring financial resources to El Dorado County.

“In order to continue to serve the transportation needs of our residents, we must recognize that we are part of a region and activate all our potential sources of funding. This includes working with SACOG. Our county’s General Plan is the basis of our future growth, but our working relationship with SACOG will help realize our residents’ priorities within the General Plan. I encourage residents of El Dorado County to attend this Transportation Open House and learn about our processes for collaboration, and how our local land use and transportation decisions fit into a larger regional transportation plan.” – District 3 Supervisor Brian Veerkamp

“I look forward to meeting and talking with residents of Placerville. This Transportation Open House will outline exactly how resident priorities and our city’s General Plan influence our work with SACOG. As our city’s needs today and in the future are at the core of my work representing Placerville. I want to share with residents how our city plans for our future growth while enhancing economic opportunity and quality of life.” – City of Placerville Mayor Carl Hagen
