Beginning on Friday, November 13, the El Dorado County Treasurer-Tax Collector Department and public
tax counter will close to the public for an office remodel. The office and tax counter will reopen on
Monday, November 23.
“Ensuring the safety of our customers and staff while providing the highest level of customer service
possible has to be at the forefront of our operations,” says K. E. Coleman, Treasurer-Tax Collector. “In our
customer service lobby, we have installed safety glass between the customers and our staff and privacy
partitions between customer windows. With the customer area modifications completed, we are now
focusing on the staff area,” continues Coleman.
The remodel will arrange workstations to allow Treasurer-Tax Collector department staff to perform their
work efficiently and safely. Additionally, improved circulation paths will allow safer ingress and egress
through the internal workstations as well as to the files and the equipment used in the office.
During the office closure, staff will work from alternate locations processing mail and online tax payments.
They will be answering the main telephone line – (530) 621-5800 – and department e-mail. We encourage
you to call or email with questions. The payment bins outside of both Building B entrances will also be
available for payments made by check. Cash payments cannot be accepted during the remodel.
Online payments are accepted on the Tax Collector’s website at:
https://edcgov.us/Government/TaxCollector
Under the heading “Property Tax,” choose “Pay, Print and View Your Property Taxes.” Please note, if
paying online, the third-party vendor charges a processing fee for credit card and e-check payments. You
may also print a copy of your tax bill from here. The address to mail payments is imprinted on the bill.
We appreciate taxpayers’ patience during our remodel.
