WHAT: Public meeting to discuss traffic control measures in the Lake Tahoe Basin during upcoming Fourth of July and Labor Day holidays.
In anticipation of traffic congestion during the upcoming Fourth of July and Labor Day holidays, El Dorado County Department of Transportation (EDC DOT) will present a traffic congestion circulation alternative that officially and temporarily closes portions of Sawmill Road at Highway 50 and North Upper Truckee at Highway 50.

BACKGROUND: EDC DOT has been working in
collaboration with the California Highway Patrol, City of South Lake Tahoe,
Caltrans, and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department to determine viable ways to
alleviate excessive traffic congestion caused by mapping app directions and address
safety issues on neighborhood roads as visitors leave the Tahoe Basin,
particularly on holiday weekends.
