EL DORADO COUNTY ANNOUNCES MOSQUITO BRIDGE CLOSURE IN MID-JULY
The El Dorado County Department of Transportation has scheduled the annual maintenance of the historic Mosquito Bridge beginning Monday, July 12, 2021, through Thursday, July 29, 2021, from 7am to 4pm. The bridge, which was built in 1867 and spans the South Fork of the American River north of Placerville, will be closed to traffic during that period.
Project dates and times are estimates based on favorable weather conditions. Motorists will be required to use State Highway 193 to Rock Creek Road as a detour. Slower speeds and caution are highly recommended.
Portable changeable message signs will be placed to keep motorists updated on any changes to the timing of the project.
Your cooperation and patience during this project is appreciated. Questions regarding maintenance activities may be directed to the Transportation Division's Maintenance Unit at (530) 642-4909.
