ROAD WORK ON GREEN VALLEY ROAD TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK

(PLACERVILLE, CA) -- El Dorado County's Department of Transportation will be performing road work on Green Valley Road between El Dorado Road and the Weber Creek Bridge, beginning June 24th and continuing through September 2019.  The work will require occasional lane closures during which motorists should expect delays.

The lane closures are necessary to ensure motorist and worker safety while repairs are made to the slope below the roadway.  Portable changeable message signs will be posted in advance of the construction and will remain throughout the duration of the project.  Additionally, a temporary signal system will be installed in early July when the road is reduced to one lane.  The temporary signal system will operate continuously 24/7 until the beginning of September.

Motorists are advised to slow down through the work zone and expect delays during operation of the temporary signal.  Motorists are also advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work zone in order to arrive at their destinations on time.
