EL DORADO COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION PROVIDES DOCUMENTS FOR PUBLIC REVIEW
Opportunity for public input regarding Pioneer Trail/US 50 Safety Improvement Project
(PLACERVILLE, CA) – The County of El Dorado, Department of Transportation (County) intends to adopt the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration/Initial Environmental Checklist for the Pioneer Trail/ U.S. 50 Intersection Safety Improvement Project (Project). The County is proposing to remove the traffic signals at the U.S. Highway 50/Pioneer Trail intersection and replace the intersection with a three-leg modern roundabout, which includes, but is not limited to: standard roundabout geometric features such as shared-use paths, crosswalks, splitter islands, truck apron with central island, and landscape buffer between the circulatory roadway and shared-use path.
The review period for the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration/Initial Environmental Checklist begins on August 2, 2021 and ends on September 2, 2021. The Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration/Initial Environmental Checklist may be reviewed at the El Dorado County, Department of Transportation offices at 924 B Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe, California. Failure to comment in writing will not preclude your right to comment at any public hearing for the proposed project. The Board of Supervisors (Board) is anticipated to consider the Mitigated Negative Declaration in November 2021.
