GREENSTONE ROAD AT SLATE CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMEN PROJECT ROAD CLOSURE –DAVIDSON ROAD TO QUAIL VALLEY ROAD

DELAYED

(PLACERVILLE, CA) – El Dorado County Department of Transportation announced today that the full closure of Greenstone Road has been postponed due to an active bird nest.

The active bird nest under the existing bridge is protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (16 U.S.C.703 et seq.), so the County's Contractor must wait to remove the bridge until the nest is no longer active.  Greenstone Road will remain open until such time work can resume at the bridge site.

The full closure of Greenstone Road between Davidson Road and Quail Valley Road is necessary in order to safely remove and reconstruct the bridge at Slate Creek as well as to realign the roadway approaches.  The planned closure was scheduled to occur between April 20, 2020 and September 16, 2020.

Changeable message signs placed on Greenstone Road will be used to update motorists of the road closure.

The County sincerely appreciates the cooperation and patience of motorists that use this roadway and we apologize for any inconvenience as a result of this project. For questions regarding this construction, please contact the County at (530) 642-4977.
