BOARD APPPOINTS RON LADAGE AS DIRECTOR OF CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES
(PLACERVILLE, CA) – The Board of Supervisors today appointed Ron Ladage as the County's Director of Child Support Services effective immediately. Ladage was previously Assistant Director/Chief Attorney of Child Support Services.
Before joining El Dorado County, Ladage spent more than 25 years with the Sacramento County Department of Child Support Services, seven of those years as the Principal Attorney. While there, he was responsible for planning, directing and managing the legal division which included nine attorneys. Prior to that, he worked for the Sacramento County Probation Department.
"The County is fortunate to have someone of Ron's caliber and experience taking the lead to locate parents, establish paternity, establish and enforce court orders, and collect and process child support payments," said Chief Administrative Officer, Don Ashton.
As Assistant Director/Chief Attorney of El Dorado County's Child Support Services, Ladage assisted the Director in developing and directing the implementation of goals, objectives, work standards, and departmental policies and procedures. He also assumed management of the legal division.
Additionally, Ladage is a current member of the Child Support Directors Association. He is the chair of the Judicial Council Forms Committee, co-chair of the National Legal College Committee, and a member of the Legal Practices Committee.
While Ron enjoys being involved with legal issues at a statewide level, he is also passionate about outreach, collaboration, and team building. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento, and a Juris Doctor from Lincoln Law School, Sacramento. Ladage is married to his wife, Patrise, and they have two children, Ty (22) and Rachel (18).
"I'm honored to be given this opportunity by the Board to lead the department. I'm looking forward to continuing the excellent work started by the past director Don Semon," Ladage said. "I'm excited to expand our existing outreach program to the entire El Dorado County community."
