You are invited to attend this year’s family 4-H Chili Cook-off and Round Up ~ Ag Expo Event on Saturday, May 5th at 10:00 am - 4:00 pm held at EDC Fairgrounds. This is the big 4-H County Council event of the program year. Admission is free and open to the public, so bring your family and friends.
Interested in joining in on a chili challenge? Space is still available and you only need 2 gallons to compete. Last year we had about 20 participants and it was exciting to taste all those different variations of chili.
The chili will be judged by professional judges and by popular vote. $50 prize each - overall winners for both categories. 1st, 2nd & 3rd recognition for winners from four different categories - see details on entry form. You can download that entry form off our 4-H webpage.
Chili tasting starts at 1:00 pm at $5 per ticket - there’s lunch. If Chili is not your thing, Bridges BBQ will be providing hot dogs and BBQ Tri Tip sandwiches.
After tasting chili bring the kids to see the animals, rocketry demos, Home Arts Day projects and watch a pigeon release. Local crafters will have their wares and the famous 4-H silent auction will be going on. Entertainment by local band AWE-D-SEA playing time 11:30 am 1:00 pm.
