El Dorado County Photo Policy
Photo Use: All photos in the County Photo Library are for the benefit of those who wish to view the beauty, history and diversity of El Dorado County. No photo may be copied or reproduced for any commercial purpose without the express permission of the owner of the photograph. The owner of the photograph must be properly credited, as cited in the photo library, in connection with any use of any image downloaded from the photo library. Please Email us to request permission if you are going to copy any of these photos for any purpose from this website. Thank you.
The Photo Library is utilized by the public through a "Find a Photo" lookup web page searching by photo "title" or searching by photo "credit".
Photo Submission Terms and Conditions: |
| To keep the photos fresh, up-to-date and interesting, the IT Department encourages and solicits contributions for photos to be submitted to the El Dorado County Photo Library. |

Pictures are to be submitted electronically in .jpg, .gif, .bmp, or .tif format.
Photo size should not exceed 3MB. |

Keep in mind that the purpose of the photo is to show off our beautiful county. A place, building, or event in El Dorado County must be the primary focus of the picture. |

Please identify where the picture was taken. |

By submitting your photo(s), you certify that you are the author or sole owner of the photos being submitted, and you further certify that the photos are not subject to any copyright claims or other ownership rights of a third party |

By submitting your photos, you agree to indemnify the County and hold the County harmless from any losses, damages, judgments or liability, including attorneys’ fees, relating in any way or arising from claims by third parties for alleged infringement of any copyright or ownership rights in the photographs submitted you. |

You may or may not receive on-screen photo credit depending on how the picture is used. |

By submitting your photos, you agree that El Dorado County has the right to:
(1) Publish the photos on El Dorado County internet and/or intranet websites, or websites hosted/maintained by El Dorado County;
(2) Copy, reproduce and distribute the photos in any free publications produced or sponsored by the County;
(3) Modify the photo in any way necessary for the purpose of publication, including but not limited to cropping or reducing the image; and
(4) Publicly display the photographs.
