Children’s Health Insurance
Help is available for families with low or moderate incomes to find health insurance for their children. For assistance, speak with one of our outreach workers at 1-800-388-8690.
Communicable Disease Education and Outbreak Investigation
Nurses and health educators respond to requests for information about communicable disease such as rabies, West Nile virus, meningitis, and tuberculosis. They also investigate, control and prevent outbreaks of disease in the community. To reach the communicable disease control team, call (530) 621-6320.
Immunizations prevent the spread of communicable diseases among people. Without immunizations, people are at greater risk of catching vaccine-preventable diseases. Our pediatric vaccines are provided to us through the federally funded Vaccines for Children program which enables us to offer them at low or no cost to people who do not have health insurance or are underinsured. These vaccines are the same name brands offered in private practice. For more info on our Immunization Program click here.
Tuberculosis (TB) is a serious disease that attacks the lungs and can lead to death if not properly treated. It is spread by breathing in germs from an infected person. The only way to find out if you are infected with TB is to have a PPD skin test. The test is quick and painless. Results are usually available in two to three days. If you are from a country where TB infection rates are high or have recently come in contact with someone who has active TB, then a PPD skin test is recommended. Call us to schedule an appointment.
Our laboratory can test your home’s well water and other water sources. The tests are reasonably priced and results are available quickly. Come into the lab and pick up the tests. Services are available for private residents, businesses, realtors and other individuals who need to ensure their water source is safe to drink. For more information about the laboratory, call us at (530) 621-6115.
